Jesus was very engaged in the local communities; constantly traveling from city to city, town to town, healing and preaching. People asked him all kinds of questions about social issues and expected him to do be this political force and king to lead them into a revolution against Rome and win them their freedoms and rights! But, what happened? What was Jesus political activism really like? What were his focuses of advocacy?

What Did Athenagoras of Athens Teach?
Not a lot is known about Athenagoras except what is found in his writings and quoted by later writers. It is estimated that he was born around 133AD and died around 190AD. His writings are dated to around 176AD. Oddly he is not recorded in the writings of Eusebius but none the less is noted by other church historians. From his writings we can determine what it is he understood from the Apostles teachings; and his writings are extensive. His known writings mainly focus on why Christianity is superior to pagan religions and a very lengthy argument for bodily resurrection. His writings also contain a very detailed explanation of The Trinity before the term 'the trinity' was applied.
The World Changes, The Worldly Hearts Do Not
When reading through the Bible and take note of social norms in the early cultures all the way through the early church writings about social norms of those times; a pattern becomes apparent. A social norms pattern that conflict with God's moral standard. Then, when looking at our modern times and its escalating social norms, we see the pattern continuing. The pattern of child sacrifice and freedom for sexual immorality. But what is at the source of it and what is wrong with it?
Normalized Adultery
This is a tough subject for a lot of Christians in a culture that accepts most sexually immoral choices. Whats even more scary is that some Christians support the wrong choice or are too fearful to rebuke it out of concern for offending or being labeled 'judgemental'. What do these adulterous choices, that are accepted and more normalized look like?
A Godly Couple
A Godly couple reflects the nature of God and relationship with God between himself and mankind and between Christ and the Church. Only through His original design of holy relationships we see how the power of God is felt and seen. The relationship itself can be seen as powerful in its unity and purity for the rest of the world to see and come to know. What does a Godly Couple look like? What do they do different from the rest of the fallen world?
The Original Pure and Holy Marriage
Before sin and corruption entered the world, Adam was the Husband of Eve (Gen 3:6). That shows us there is an uncorrupted form of marriage and an original holy design for marriage. To understand this original uncorrupted form, we need to look at how it was first revealed leading up to its original ceremony, first declaration and explicit elaboration by Jesus.
A Godly Husband
The God ordained responsibilities of a Husband are established by God for his will and purpose in this world as a visible reflection of God himself. Though the Husband is a sinner, when striving to fulfill his ordained role, his home sees the Lord and his Grace despite his humanity. His responsibilities can be broken down as leader, unconditional and sacrificial lover, servant, and foundational support system for his wife and family.
The Godly Wife
This is a hot topic of our age. Despite how the world may try to define spousal roles; God gives us how He has made the ordained role and how it pleases him. From day one, Satan took advantage of the spousal role confusion and looking at the modern family dynamic, not a whole lot has changed. But what are the godly responsibilities of a wife? What will God hold the wife accountable for and how does the true wife role benefit the family unit?
Dating Non-christians
Should Christians Date a non-christian? The better question to ask is what does GOD say about being in an intimate and mutually influential and supportive relationship with someone who does not love Jesus Christ as God. In this article we will address God's decrees and Will for dating, What happens to believers who date nonbelievers, and 4 Godly Dating Tips.
What Did Polycarp of Smyrna Teach?
Polycarp is one of the earliest Church leaders. Born around or just right after Paul The Apostles martyrdom and himself martyred around 150 AD. According to Irenaeus and Jerome, he was literally a disciple of John The Apostle and ordained by John himself to lead the church in Smyrna. Polycarp was also close to Papias, who was also a disciple of John. His only surviving writing is a Letter to the Philippians. Irenaeus also records how he heard Polycarp teach in person and speak about things John The Apostle told him about Jesus first hand.
