The Inconvenience of Serving God
We have our daily and weekly routines. Work, Wednesday small group, family time, and Church on Sunday. We often and easily forget that God does not work by our schedule. Sometimes, God gives us an opportunity to serve him and glorify him at times that interfere with our daily or weekly routine. How we respond to this reflects where our heart stands with God's Will and our ultimate desire to worship and serve him.
Rediscovering The Vastness of John 3:16
Hurricane Harvey Help
It is critical that the church acts when there is a need. Well, there is a need. Hurricane Harvey hit Texas and Louisiana hard and there is an on going need of donations. As the Body of Christ, we serve the Lord Jesus Christ in every opportunity and need. We serve not for selfish reasons or intent but out of Love for God and others. If God has given you a dry roof over your head, food, clothing, and life; it is your duty as a servant of God to use that which God has given you for others in need. There are many ways to serve and help.
Do Christians Need to Attend Church?
The Season of Advent
Following the Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacles that remind us of things still to come; Advent reminds us to prepare our hearts to remember who already came and who will come again. The weeks of the four Sundays before Christmas is known as Advent. It is an extra-biblical season and by no means is required for Christians to celebrate but is up to the conscience of each person (Romans 14:5–6). This article will get into the history behind Advent and its meaning.
Disputable Matters
There are some things in the Christian faith that are essential absolute truths; such as Jesus is the One and Only begotten Son of God who is also Lord God and Savior. Another is that we are saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ. But there are some matters that are of a relative nature; what food we eat, the day we worship, what we wear to church, what kind of church music is played, having a beer, and getting a tattoo. Those are examples Disputable Matters.
Radicalized Christians?
Is
there a sect or view within Christianity that advocates and exercises
murder and violence against those who are viewed as enemies? If there
is a radicalized Christianity, what is it exactly? Quite honestly
the answer is very simple. To know what IS Christianity, we must first
look at the core defining elements of the faith and look at the
teachings of Jesus.
A Godly Husband
The God ordained responsibilities of a Husband are established by God for his will and purpose in this world as a visible reflection of God himself. Though the Husband is a sinner, when striving to fulfill his ordained role, his home sees the Lord and his Grace despite his humanity. His responsibilities can be broken down as leader, unconditional and sacrificial lover, servant, and foundational support system for his wife and family.
The Godly Wife
This is a hot topic of our age. Despite how the world may try to define spousal roles; God gives us how He has made the ordained role and how it pleases him. From day one, Satan took advantage of the spousal role confusion and looking at the modern family dynamic, not a whole lot has changed. But what are the godly responsibilities of a wife? What will God hold the wife accountable for and how does the true wife role benefit the family unit?
God and The Government
God sets up and institutes each government (Romans 13:1-4) which can be a positive or negative judgement on the people of that nation. Some times God is not pleased with those whom people chose to lead the people but allows it (Hosea 8:4) and hands people over to their sinful heart and desire (Romans 1:24). But how are Christians called interact with their ordained governments and what is their absolute Human Right?
An Inconsiderate Faith
It is common, especially in this America culture, to view faith through the liens of individualism and self-pride. That faith is 'yours' and has nothing to do with anyone or anything else. But it is this cultural view that distorts what faith really is. In this article we will look at what faith truly is and how some who claim to have faith are really just inconsiderate and selfish.
Small/Home Groups
As local church communities grow into large congregations it gets harder for the church leadership to address all the needs of the larger growing congregation. Creating small groups / home groups is a strategy to help fulfill the material and spiritual needs. There are advantages in this strategy. In this article we will address the strategy in a biblical way and discuss how to form a plan and execute it. We will lay out the who, what, when, where, how, and why of small/house groups.
The Self and The Center of Everything
Americans are quick to think that they are the standard of the world. Their individuality and rights are the greatest gifts to all the world. But what if God required of all those who followed him to give up their 'rights' and everything in this world; for his glory. Humans are not the center of everything. The individual is either a self righteous idol trying to be its own god, or enslaved to another humanistic idol, or a self-denying, self-sacrificial, supremely valuable instrument of God's Glory. Are you the center of all that you do or is God? How would you know?
Negative Name Dropping and Calling Out
It has become common in American society to view name dropping and calling people out in regards to something negative as 'wrong' even a 'sin'. The question(s) we dive into are: Is it ever 'okay' (right and not a sin) to name dropping and calling people out? If and when it is appropriate? To come to the answers to these questions, we need to first look at Jesus Christ and his apostles.
Don't Judge Me
Dating Non-christians
Should Christians Date a non-christian? The better question to ask is what does GOD say about being in an intimate and mutually influential and supportive relationship with someone who does not love Jesus Christ as God. In this article we will address God's decrees and Will for dating, What happens to believers who date nonbelievers, and 4 Godly Dating Tips.
How Christians NEED to Respond to the Anti-Christian World
With terrorism becoming more apparent in Western nations and the threat of violence and death is becoming more abundant world wide, Christians NEED to respond the way The Lord God Christ Jesus calls all his elect to respond. As the 'western' civilizations become more secular; the social, civil, and physical persecution of The Gospel message will grow. How Christians respond to this is just as important as the identity of being Christian itself. This article is a comprehensive support and aid to those who are not sure how or what they can do or really understand what they, as Christian, are even called to do.
Me, Myself, And I and "Doing Me"
Examining our selves is an important part to seeing where our hearts truly stand. Fasting, private bible study and private prayer life are extremely important to our relationship and growth with the Lord. BUT there is a big difference between "doing me" and seeking to mature in faith because they are not always the same.
When "me, myself, and I" and "doing me" takes away from how to love and care for others; that is sin. A continuation of this mentality leads us to then idolize ourselves. Our self becomes the most important thing. More important than loving others. More important than loving our enemies. Eventually, more important than loving God.
