Is God Perfect? Does God Make Mistakes?

Is God perfect and does he make mistakes?  This is the first question in TheStateofTheology.com research study.  Of all those who participated, 34% said that they did not believe he is perfect and that he makes mistakes.  That is huge.  1 in 3 professing Christians did not believe God is God.  This article will address the issue to help the 34% know God deeper and equip the 66% of professing Christians to better explain this lacking understanding in the church.

Test, Discern, and Righteous Judgement

Everything we are taught about the Holy Scripture needs to be tested against Holy Scripture.  We do not blindly believe everything every preacher or religious teacher states; but why?   God calls us to test everything and rightly judge.  This leads us to truth and emboldens our faith; but how?  This article will go over all the who, what, when, where, and why of testing, discerning, and rightly judging.

How Holy is God?

Understanding the Holiness of God is one of the greatest and deepest attributes of God himself.  Man can not fully grasp his holiness because we ourselves will never experience the absolute holiness of God until we are in his presence.  Through Christ and what he has revealed to us, can we better understand how Holy he truly is.

Maximal Opportunities to Desire God

This is an extremely deep issue that takes a lot of careful thought.  When correctly understood in light of scripture we can see how Maximal Opportunities bridges the understanding gap in a lot of areas in the Christian faith.  This relates to Molinism or the middle knowledge of God.  It explains how God does the all work in salvation, how people come to desire God, how he is all knowing, how and why a loving God allows evil, how and why God does not show favoritism, and how he is not responsible for sin.

The Season of 10/40 Missions

The Gospel 4All.com exists to serve the church and reach people world wide; and not just in America and English speaking nations. Access to the Gospel message is fundamental for a people group to be reached and having an opportunity to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Modern free societies have the opportunity to access the gospel through transportation, traveling, media, and internet access but what about the closed nations or the countries that limit the travel and internet access?  How do they get access to hear the life changing and powerful message of Jesus?  Through those whom are called specifically for this type of mission work.  And for those whom do come to faith in Jesus in a restricted and hostel nation, how do they receive the support from the church?  This is the responsibility as the church body as a whole.  Those who have been blessed with the resources for support.  We want to connect those who are blessed with resources and those who need them. 

God and The Government

God sets up and institutes each government (Romans 13:1-4) which can be a positive or negative judgement on the people of that nation.  Some times God is not pleased with those whom people chose to lead the people but allows it (Hosea 8:4) and hands people over to their sinful heart and desire (Romans 1:24).  But how are Christians called interact with their ordained governments and what is their absolute Human Right?

The Satisfaction of Christ Jesus

All humanity longs for something.  It needs and desires something more than itself.  It invents and subscribes to things that attempt to satisfy that need and desire.  Religions, cultural norms and laws, hobbies and possessions, careers and status.  All these things CAN attempt to satisfy the human longing for contentment and peace.  Even some "christians" are not satisfied with just their religion, they need greater health, more wealth, and happiness too.  But the absolute power of being in Christ is the absolute contentment and peace that only comes from him.

The Beauty of Accountability

It is human nature to NOT want to be held accountable for our wrongful actions.  From the very beginning; Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the snake.  But what if that resistance to being held accountable was actually our sinful nature and that God actually wants us to hold each other accountable;  and what if through that accountability we get to experience grace, mercy, forgiveness, and need for Christ on a deeper level of understanding.  An understanding that would not come otherwise.  What does scripture teach us about accountability and our duty out of love for each other?

Negative Name Dropping and Calling Out

It has become common in American society to view name dropping and calling people out in regards to something negative as 'wrong' even a 'sin'.  The question(s) we dive into are:  Is it ever 'okay' (right and not a sin) to name dropping and calling people out?  If and when it is appropriate?  To come to the answers to these questions, we need to first look at Jesus Christ and his apostles.

Don't Judge Me

At some point all genuine followers of Christ will be labeled judgmental and told to "not judge" someone for what ever reason.  Positivism and Emotionalism has crept into the church and infected the minds of some believers.  They are quick to water down God's own decrees in fear of offending the world.  They care more about their own likability and image before the world than they do making what God has already declared known.  They are scared of the 11th commandment; Tho Shalt Not Judge.  What what does God say about making his truths known?

God's Truths are Not a Matter of Opinions

When discussing what the bible explicitly states, some will state "well, its just your opinion".  Some will even state "well, I don't see it that way".  The implications are that truth is just a matter of opinion; but is it?

If God declared something that which offends him; that applies to all people at all times everywhere.  If God declared that getting drunk offends him and a believer in that which was declared re-states the declaration, is it just their opinion?  No, it is still God's declaration. 

The "Jesus didn't say it" Reasoning

With so much debate in our culture, there is a quick judgment to condemn people for quoting scripture for their reason or their lack of support or lack of encouragement for certain cultural issues.  One of these forms of reasoning why some feel scripture quoting Christians are bigots its this:  "Jesus did not specifically say..." or "Jesus did not specifically mention..."  The reason is assuming that because the topic or moral issue is not mentioned in the red lettering of a bible, than Jesus did not have anything to say about the issue.  But there is one major and critical problem with that reasoning. 

By Christ's Work Alone

On what date did you make yourself come from spiritual death to life?  How did you give birth to your own spirit?  What steps and procedure did you do and work hard at to save yourself from death?  If you say anything besides "none" or "zip" or "nada"; you have mild case of thinking that you are god.  Because only God can bring people to spiritually life from spiritual death; we are not God.  That's right, God himself declares that we are spiritually dead from birth.  We are D.O.A. (Dead On Arrival).  So how do we become alive and  right before God?

Abortion and God's Gift

To cut through all the human emotion and partisan opinions we need answer the fundamental questions that lead us to the truth of this issue.  To obtain the knowledge of God we must search his Word and not lean on our own views and opinions:

 Is the unborn child a human person in God's image?

Christian Sinners or Christian Hypocrites

Christians are sinners and the world is quick to view them as hypocrites.  Some Christians even embrace the idea of being a hypocrite but the real question is; are Christians hypocrites?  More importantly when people put their faith in Jesus Christ as lord and savior, does God see them as hypocrites?  Lets first look at Jesus' attitude toward those who followed him and those who claimed to love God but did not follow him.

Have you been deceived by The World?

We are commanded to test and discern what is pleasing to the lord and to guard our hearts and minds.  How do we do this? Its actually very simple.  The Word of God is our standard and the Holy Spirit is our councilor and teacher through scripture.  The Word of God is alive and active because the Holy Spirit works through it.  All we do is compare explicit teachings in scripture and correct applications of the character of God to the things in the world and just like a light in the darkness, things are revealed. 

When was the last time you did this with how you think about everything in your life?  How do you know you haven't been deceived by things of this world?  You maybe be supporting and encouraging the very things that is unpleasing to the Lord.  Is that what you want to do, be an advocate for what God hates?

With these simple questions, you can test whether or not you have been deceived by The World.

God is holy (Isaiah 6:3), just (Deuteronomy 32:4), and righteous (Exodus 9:27). God is love (1 John 4:8), gracious (Ephesians 2:8), merciful (1 Peter 1:3), and good (Romans 8:28). He is to be worshiped (Gen. 24:26; Ex. 4:31; 2 Chron. 29:28; 1 Cor. 14:25; Rev. 7:11). He is to be served (Matt. 4:10; 1 Cor. 6:19; Phil. 3:7; 1 Thess. 1:9; Heb. 9:14). He is to be proclaimed (Matt. 28:19f.; John 14:15f.; Acts 1:8).
