When Christians Support Abortion

Christians can support abortion in different ways.  They may support it indirectly but knowingly through an organization, politician, or political party who advocate for abortion.  Or they may outright support it directly.  Either way, a Christian is supporting something that contradicts their faith, offends God, oppresses life, perpetuates dehumanization, inequality, and hinders the gospel.  This article exposes the Christian hypocrisy and false worship of supporting abortion.

Are You Fearless For Christ?

Are you fearless for Christ?  Seems like a basic and simple question but it is much deeper than most of us actually think.  The deeper question is, are you so dedicated to Jesus that you risk your own life to make him more known?  This is the question we must all ask ourselves in our daily lives.  Reflecting on what Jesus, the Apostles, and the early church had to endure and sacrifice should give us some pause and self reflection.

The Worldly Construction of 'Race'

In changing times and as cultural identities evolve, a constant issue has been and seems always will be the struggle of favoritism and discrimination of people who look and act different.  Even God's people struggle with this issue to this day.  How we address the issue is not found in worldly political strategies and policies but in the truths in Holy Scripture and the Characteristics of God himself.

Radicalized Christians?

Is there a sect or view within Christianity that advocates and exercises murder and violence against those who are viewed as enemies?  If there is a radicalized Christianity, what is it exactly?  Quite honestly the answer is very simple.  To know what IS Christianity, we must first look at the core defining elements of the faith and look at the teachings of Jesus.

An Inconsiderate Faith

It is common, especially in this America culture, to view faith through the liens of individualism and self-pride.  That faith is 'yours' and has nothing to do with anyone or anything else.  But it is this cultural view that distorts what faith really is.  In this article we will look at what faith truly is and how some who claim to have faith are really just inconsiderate and selfish.

Fasting

What is fasting? Why fast and how do you fast? These are important questions for anyone who is seeking the Lord and wanting to glorify him.

First understand that fasting is NOT commanded. In the Old Testament it was only commanded 1 day out of year for The Day of Atonement in Leviticus 23:27, 29, and 32.  Jesus fasted (Matthew 4:2) and his apostles fasted (Mark 2:20) but again, they were not commanded to.  Anyone that says you are commanded to fast is incorrect as there is not biblical support for such a command.

Fasting is not a public spectral.  It is private and between you and the Lord.  Those who fasted and draw attention to themselves were called hypocrites (Matthew 6:16–18).  Thus we can see two things;  fasting is not commanded, and it is not to draw attention to yourself.

Don't Judge Me

At some point all genuine followers of Christ will be labeled judgmental and told to "not judge" someone for what ever reason.  Positivism and Emotionalism has crept into the church and infected the minds of some believers.  They are quick to water down God's own decrees in fear of offending the world.  They care more about their own likability and image before the world than they do making what God has already declared known.  They are scared of the 11th commandment; Tho Shalt Not Judge.  What what does God say about making his truths known?

Health, Wealth, Happiness, and Prosperity Teaching

In this new season of the Church, a new teaching has developed in America and spread to the rest of the world.  It is a teaching about spiritual positive thinking and speaking.  It has become popular in America and developing parts of the world.  But what exactly is this teaching saying and how does it impact the hearts of those who listen to it?

You will notice a lot of catch words in these teachings and used by those who follow these new teachings.  Words like, victory, favor, claim, declare, destiny, and portions.  When used these words are positive in their context.  Sounds good right?  They go a step further and teach that by YOUR words that YOU create YOUR own Health, Wealth, Happiness, Prosperity, and ultimately your Destiny.  Sounds even better right?

Me, Myself, And I and "Doing Me"

Examining our selves is an important part to seeing where our hearts truly stand.  Fasting, private bible study and private prayer life are extremely important to our relationship and growth with the Lord.  BUT there is a big difference between "doing me" and seeking to mature in faith because they are not always the same.

When "me, myself, and I" and "doing me" takes away from how to love and care for others; that is sin.  A continuation of this mentality leads us to then idolize ourselves.  Our self becomes the most important thing.  More important than loving others.   More important than loving our enemies.  Eventually, more important than loving God.

How Facebook Reveals Your Heart

Social Networking has become a modern phenomena.  First it was America Online and its instant messenger then Geocities and Tripod.  It allowed people to connect on a more impersonal level.   Then came Friendster and Myspace.  These allowed people to create an image of a persona they want the world to see.  An image of their desired self.  Over timed it turned from a page set up to a focus on content shared.  Here we are, we can see into the heart and mind of people by the things they desire to share and say for everyone of their friends to see. 

Because of the natural condition of the human heart; our heart uses facebook to satisfy its natural desire for acceptance, identity, notoriety, and glory.  It can be made into a tool for self idolatry or to support and encourage other idolatries in the world.  But the truth about facebook is that we can see the fruit of the someone by their comments and things they share.  This article is convicting, not condemning.  Here is why:

Christian Sinners or Christian Hypocrites

Christians are sinners and the world is quick to view them as hypocrites.  Some Christians even embrace the idea of being a hypocrite but the real question is; are Christians hypocrites?  More importantly when people put their faith in Jesus Christ as lord and savior, does God see them as hypocrites?  Lets first look at Jesus' attitude toward those who followed him and those who claimed to love God but did not follow him.

The Other Side of The Real Jesus

In the modern civilized world, the church has more or less focused on Jesus' softer side.  Through the years the church has managed to try and avoid even in some cases hide a certain side of Jesus that they felt turned people away from him.  Any kind of action, attitude, and character of Jesus that people find 'negative' or 'offensive' is watered down or dodged to appease the feelings of man.  Now the only side of Jesus people know is something happy and nice but when they hear about the other side of Jesus, they reject it.  In the end, they don't truly know Jesus because they deny his "other side".  So what is that 'other side' that the church is to cowardly to teach and discuss?  It is the side that causes conflict and confronts evil.  Jesus is not politically correct.

Lets allow Jesus' words and actions to speak for us;

Christians that are 'too christian'

I have heard people called this, by other Christians.  That someone is "too churchy" or "too biblie" or "too Christian".  They are usually labeled this when they make something, a discussion, or a situation that is not in a religious context; about God.  They are accused negatively of making things in life about God, too often.  But that brings up a couple very important questions:

1.  Can a Christian, by making everything in life about God, be a bad thing?  That leads us to ask are Christians commanded to making everything about God?

2.  Is too much God wrong or is too little God wrong?  The reverse can also be asked; Is too much God right or too little God right?  Because they both can not be true.

3.  Is there a discussion, topic, situation, or thing in life where God should not be brought up?  Is there an area of life where we should leave God out?

50 Shades of Christian Deception

You can know if you or someone you know is blinded by themselves or the world by their heart felt view of the movie 50 Shades of Gray.  It comes down to if they find it acceptable to expose themselves to its contents and stand idle or support others to be exposed to it.  But what is inherently wrong and dangerous about the movie?
